A Clarksville man was arrested after he fired his gun several times in a parking lot on Lowes Drive in Clarksville Sunday morning.
Clarksville Police say 29-year-old Henry Shannon pulled a gun out of his vehicle and began firing the gun randomly in the parking lot during a fight with his girlfriend.
During the shooting, off-duty Guthrie Police Officer Austin Richardson who was in the parking lot reportedly tried to negotiate with Shannon several times.
Shannon allegedly started having problems with his gun not firing and Richardson was able to get his gun from his vehicle.
Shannon then reportedly pointed his gun at the officer and Richardson fired at him.
Shannon fled into a field and was later located with a gunshot wound to his arm. He is charged with domestic assault and aggravated assault and more charges are pending.
Shannon was taken to the hospital and remains in stable condition.
