A Hopkinsville man was reportedly found with drugs after a traffic stop on McLean Avenue in Hopkinsville Friday night.
Hopkinsville Police say 27-year-old Shawn Ellis was signaled to stop his vehicle by police and instead he drove around the officer.
Officers were able to get him to stop after he drove around the first officer and could reportedly smell marijuana in the vehicle.
Ellis allegedly admitted to smoking marijuana and 17 grams were found in his belongings along with a bag containing pills. A juvenile was also reportedly sitting in the center of the vehicle where there was no seat.
Police say Ellis failed standardized field sobriety tests and was charged with DUI, possession of marijuana, trafficking in a controlled substance along with several traffic violations.
