Due to the statewide mandate requiring face masks issued by Governor Andy Beshear last week, officials announced Monday that Hoptown Hose Down has been postponed for a couple of weeks.
As a result of the face mask mandate, officials with Hopkinsville Parks & Recreation and Hopkinsville Fire Department say they have decided to postpone all Hose Down stops until the mandate reaches its currently-scheduled conclusion which is set to end August 9th, unless the governor extends the mandate.
Last week, during five weekday afternoon, stops to five different parks in Hopkinsville, officials say the Hoptown Hose Down tour drew approximately 300 people. The free event allows kids to cool off under the spray down of Hopkinsville Fire Department pumper truck water hoses. It was set to continue today (Monday) at DeBow Recreational Complex, and run through the end of August.
Local officials hope to revive the Hose Down from 2:00 until 3:00 the afternoon of Monday, August 10th at the Debow Recreational Complex.
