A state highway in Caldwell County was blocked for several hours Friday night following a semi tractor-trailer accident. Caldwell County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Chris Noel states just before six deputies responded to reports of a semi overturned on Kentucky 128 between Kentucky 91 and Kentucky 126.
He adds preliminary investigation revealed a semi driven by 34-year-old Marcus Fields, of Atlanta, was traveling along Kentucky 128 when for unknown reasons the semi slipped off the roadway and over-corrected leading it to come to a rest on its side in the roadway. Fields was uninjured in the accident.
Chief Deputy Noel notes the roadway was closed until about 11:30PM to allow crews to offload the trailer, which was hauling canned food items.
Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Caldwell County EMS, Princeton Fire and Rescue, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet personnel, and Kentucky State Police.
