The man arrested in connection to a body found in a cemetery in Fredonia is facing new charges as investigation continues.
Kentucky State Police Post 2 Public Information Officer Trooper Rob Austin states detectives obtained an arrest warrant for 52-year-old Lawrence Florentine for murder-domestic violence on Friday. Trooper Austin adds Florentine was served the warrant later that evening in Colorado, where he is currently lodged waiting on extradition back to Kentucky.
The charges stem from an incident on June 13th when KSP were contacted by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a female body found in Hill Cemetery. The body was later identified as Florentine’s wife, 36-year-old Nicole Renee Florentine, of Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Florentine was located and arrested in Denver, Colorado on June 23rd and was originally facing charges of abuse of a corpse.
The investigation is ongoing.
