The Trigg County Coroner’s Office has released the name of a child that drowned Tuesday morning near a Woodland Drive home.
Kentucky State Police say 23-month-old Skylar Hestand walked away from her home and was found in a small pond near the house around 11 am.
The home is located in the 500 block of Woodland Drive.
Trigg County Coroner John Mark Vinson says Hestand was pronounced dead at the scene. He says the death appears to be accidental and no foul play is suspected.
An examination of the body was done Wednesday morning at the Western Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Madisonville.
