The Trail of Tears Pow Wow in Hopkinsville is the latest large event to cancel due to COVID-19 concerns.
According to Trail of Tears officials, the decision was made to postpone the event until September 11-12th, 2021 after receiving feedback from the community and out of health and safety concerns for the public. This year, the event was originally scheduled to be held on the weekend of September 12.
The annual Pow Wow is a gathering of Native American people to celebrate their rich heritage and features various traditional dances and crafts, as well as storytelling and Indian lore demonstrations.
