A Hopkinsville teenager was charged with assaulting a Cumberland Hall staff member and escaping the facility Tuesday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say a 14-year-old attempted to get a staff member’s key in a planned escape from the facility. A second juvenile was reportedly able to get the key as the staff member was physically assaulted and the teenager was able to unlock an exterior door and escape.
The teenager was located on Honeysuckle Drive and charged with first-degree escape and third-degree assault.
