The American Red Cross is urging healthy, eligible individuals to schedule a blood or platelet donation appointment to help patients counting on lifesaving blood during a blood drive next week.
Officials state the blood drive will be held Thursday, August 6th from noon until 6PM at Calvary Baptist Church on 121 Kentucky Avenue in Princeton. They add donating blood right now is a safe process and people should not hesitate to give and receive blood as Red Cross employees will follow extensive protocols to keep everyone safe.
Officials state all donors will have their temperature taken and will be asked to return at a later date if their temperature is greater than 99.5 degrees and all potential donors will be required to wear a mask at all times. Masks will be available for those who do not have one. Donors are also being asked to use hand sanitizer prior to using tablets and laptops while checking-in and outlining their health history. Donors are being asked to enter the rear side door of the church and go directly into the gym.
Staff members will have their temperatures taken and will wear gloves during the entire appointment, changing gloves between donors.
Potential donors can make an appointment by calling the American Red Cross at 1-800-733-2767 or by clicking here and entering Princeton in the search bar. Potential donors can also use the RapidPass process at home by completing an online pre-donation and health history questionnaire at their convenience on the day of their appointment.
