Trigg County Expecting Some CARES Act Money Soon

Trigg County Fiscal Court members learned Monday afternoon the county will soon receive around 25% of the CARES Act money that is expected to come in.

Judge/Executive Hollis Alexander told magistrates during the virtual meeting they received word of the funding in the last few days.

Alexander says a majority of the funding will be used at the sheriff’s department to cover expenses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Alexander also told magistrates work has begun on the J-Turn (or R-Cut) at the Highway 139/South Road and U.S. 68/KY 80 intersection.

Trigg County Fiscal Court will meet again on Monday evening, August 17 at 6:00, if regular meetings are allowed to occur. If a virtual meeting has to be held, the meeting will occur at 2:00 PM.
