A Hopkinsville resident is among nine middle school teachers who have been selected to participate in the prestigious National STEM Scholar Program.
Amanda Huff, a science teacher from Christian County Middle School, was one of two teachers from Kentucky selected for the program. The program will provide a unique professional development program that provides advanced STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) training, national network building, and project support for teachers nationwide.
The National STEM Scholar Program was created in a partnership between the National Stem Cell Foundation and the Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science at Western Kentucky University. The program selects ten teachers each year from a national pool of applicants based solely on the description of a Challenge Project they would implement if funds were not a barrier.
