Christian County Fiscal Court magistrates Tuesday morning accepted a bid to widen a county road and authorized Judge-Executive Steve Tribble to sign a litter abatement grant.
Magistrates unanimously approved a bid with Westate Construction for widening Billy Goat Hill Road. Magistrate Mark Wells, who is on the county’s road committee, said the road will be widened one-foot on each side.

Magistrates also unanimously authorized Judge Tribble to sign a litter abatement grant which he said they hope to receive over $60,000.
Magistrates also heard an update for Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library Director DeeAnna Sova who talked about the services they are providing amid the COVID-19 pandemic. She said currently 50 people are allowed inside the library and they are still offering curbside pickup.
In addition, Sova talked about some of the library’s goals including a book security system and business center concept.

She also said another goal is updating their building, including a digital card.
The next fiscal court meeting will be Tuesday morning, August 25, at 8:30.
