CCPS Establishes Food Service Website

The Christian County Public School district has established a website for parents and guardians to sign up their child for daily school meals until in-person instruction returns in September. District spokesman John Rittenhouse says meals will be available for pick-up at any district school or from school buses delivering daily meals to twenty community sites throughout the county. He adds lunch and breakfast will be bundled together, each day.

Penny Holt, Food Service director with the district, says parents who sign up on the link will ensure their child has nutritious meals each school day while schools remain in a non-classroom setting. She adds each student must be registered by their first and last name, lunch number, and grade. She says if you do not have your child’s lunch number, register anyway.

According to Rittenhouse, parents and guardians can choose one pick up time and location each day from 7:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. bus location, or 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. bus location, or 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at any school.

School officials say this feeding program will remain in effect this school year for any student enrolled in Non-Traditional Instruction or the Virtual Learning Academy.

Rittenhouse says until the school year begins, August 27th, the summer feeding sites at each school in the district will continue daily from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
