Seven new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Christian County Tuesday afternoon.
Christian County Health Department spokeswoman Amanda Sweeney says there are now 839 total cases, 227 of which are active. Adults 22 to 59 years have the highest amount of active cases with 122. Those 21 and younger were 54 of the active cases, 43 cases were reported in those between the ages of 60 and 84, and 8 active cases in those 85 years of age or older.
Since mid-March, 601 recoveries have been reported and 11 deaths linked to COVID-19.
The Christian County Health Department will continue to provide free testing at Tie Breaker Park weekdays from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Sweeney adds, to date, they have conducted 8,624 tests and Jennie Stuart Health has conducted 5,384 tests for a total of 14,008 tests. In addition, Jennie Stuart Health currently has 5 confirmed COVID-19 patients.
Sweeney says as of Sunday the county’s positivity rate is at 10.53%.
