A Madisonville man has been indicted by a federal grand jury on child pornography charges following a joint state and federal investigation.
21-year-old Albert Zachary Altamirano was indicted on four counts in U.S. District Court in Owensboro relating to accessing, receiving, and possession of child pornography. He was arrested by Kentucky State Police in July after an investigation was initiated by Homeland Security. They said he had been accessing illegal websites containing child sexual abuse material involving children under the age of 10.
If convicted, Altamirano is facing between five and 20 years in federal prison on the charges.
