A Hopkinsville man and woman were charged with trafficking drugs and endangering the welfare of a minor Monday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called to the Marathon gas station on Fort Campbell Boulevard at the intersection of Clinic Drive for a check the welfare. When they arrived they reportedly found 40-year-old James Oliver outside his vehicle in a verbal altercation with someone else.
Oliver and his wife 36-year-old Erica Oliver were allegedly found to have outstanding warrants and were arrested. Police say Erica Oliver gave consent to search the vehicle and a prescription in her name for hydrocodone was found that had been filled on the same day but was missing 58 pills.
Police also reportedly found a digital scale, and small plastic baggies of an unknown substance believed to be heroin.
They are both charged with second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a minor, and possession of heroin. Police say two juveniles were also in the vehicle at the time of the arrest.
