Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Charges Against Hopkinsville Man

A Hopkinsville man was charged with trafficking drugs after a traffic stop on Canton Pike in Hopkinsville Saturday night.

Hopkinsville Police say they were called to the area for a report of a disturbance and talked with 43-year-old William Jones who was found to have an active warrant. Police say they could smell marijuana in his vehicle and after a search of Jones’s vehicle, they found two jars of marijuana, synthetic drugs, two vape pens with THC, two guns, and several rounds of ammunition including hollow point.
Jones is charged with trafficking marijuana and possession of synthetic drugs. He was also arrested on a Callaway County warrant for non-payment of fines.
