Oak Grove Gaming Floor Officially Open for Business

The gaming floor, restaurants, and event center at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel are officially open to the public after a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday morning.

The ceremony was held in the main entrance to the gaming floor, with local officials, facility employees, and Churchill Downs executives on hand for the event.

Darold Londo, President and General Manager of Oak Grove, says they have been working hard the last several months.

Londo adds they are excited about the first weekend of being open.

Oak Grove Mayor Theresa Jarvis says she is excited for the facility to be open and adds this will truly help the city.

Christian County Chamber of Commerce President Kelli Pendleton says the $200 million investment will have a major impact on the county.

Pendleton was shocked by the hundreds of people waiting for the gaming floor to open at 10:00 Friday morning.

Pendleton says they are happy about the hotel, amphitheater, equestrian center, RV Park, as well as the second season of live harness racing at the property in Oak Grove later in the fall.
