Toddler Dies After Accidental Shooting

A Clarksville toddler involved in an accidental shooting earlier this week has died as a result of injuries.

Officials with the Clarksville Police Department say they were called to a residence around 2:45 Tuesday afternoon on Lincoln Drive.

They add a preliminary investigation shows the two-year-old child located an unsecured firearm inside the residence. The firearm was then accidentally discharged, resulting in the child’s death.

This is still an ongoing investigation.

The department urges everyone to make sure that their firearms are secured and kept in a place not easily accessed by children.
