The Lyon County Grand Jury has returned an indictment on a Princeton man for various charges including DUI and drug possession.
The grand jury returned an indictment on 39-year-old Shawn E. Stallins on charges of first degree possession of a controlled substance – drug unspecified, DUI 4th or greater offense, speeding, possession of marijuana, operating on a suspended license, and no registration receipt.
The charges stem from an incident on June 14th when the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reported Stallins was pulled over on US Highway 62 after reportedly being clocked doing 75 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone. Deputies indicated a strong smell of alcohol coming from the vehicle and Stallins later allegedly failed a field sobriety test. A search of the vehicle then revealed a small bag of suspected marijuana as well as suspected Xanax.
Princeton Police served the indictment warrant on Stallins at the Caldwell County Jail Friday afternoon.
