The annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection program is coming to Trigg County Saturday.
Trigg County Solid Waste Coordinator Jesse Thomas tells the News Edge the event will take place at the road department next to the recycling center.
Thomas says there are numerous items they can take.
He adds they can not accept explosives and ammunition, radioactive materials including smoke detectors, medical waste, non-household waste, and unidentified materials.
This hazardous waste collection day is for Trigg County residents only and is done through a grant from the state of Kentucky.
Thomas adds the grants have always been helpful when cleaning up the county especially the program they do each summer to clean up roads.
Nearly all 120 counties in the state utilize inmate labor to clean up the roads but that was not allowed this summer due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thomas says they are also proud to keep the recycling program up and running.
