Trigg County school board members adopted the tax rates for 2020-21 keeping the rates the same as 2019.
After there were no comments at the public tax hearing held at the high school’s Little Theater, Board Chair JoAlyce Harper called the special called meeting to order with the only item on the agenda the proposed tax rates.
The proposed tax rate for real estate and personal property is 55.1 cents per $100 of assessed value, 46 cents per $100 assessed value for motor vehicles, and the maximum 3% for utilities.
Harper read the proposed tax rates which are expected to generate revenue of more than $5.3 million and an additional $436,600 above the 2020 revenue which will be allocated to several areas.
Board members unanimously approved the tax rates and the meeting was adjourned.
The next regular school board meeting will be Thursday evening, October 8, at 6:00 at the Trigg County Board of Education.
