A man was charged with assaulting his father with a gun on South Iris Drive in Hopkinsville Thursday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 29-year-old Preston Thomas used a shotgun to hit his father several times during a fight.
The father was reportedly able to get out of the home and call for police. Thomas was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and first-degree wanton endangerment.
