Bentzel Presents CCPS State of School Virtual Series

Christian County Public Schools Superintendent Chris Bentzel

Christian County Public Schools’ Superintendent Chris Bentzel presented the State of Virtual Series hosted by the county’s Chamber of Commerce Thursday morning.

Bentzel started off the presentation by expressing his gratitude to all of the district’s staff, bus drivers, administrators, community stakeholders and partners.

Bentzel also said it was important to reflect that he officially began as superintendent on July 1st. He said it was not an easy task returning to school on September 8th amid the COVID-19 pandemic but he believes it was the right decision.

He added not every school district in the state has a stand-alone Virtual Learning Academy, which he said has been a big win for Christian County.

Bentzel said they are going to do everything they can as a district to continue to keep students in the classroom with safety the top priority amid the pandemic.

Financially, he said the district has to do a better job using its dollars more wisely to sustain the budget without a tax increase or looking for outside revenue sources.

He also shared an overview of the purpose of Christian County schools, which includes building relationships, customer service at the Central Office, and rebranding the district’s mission, vision and core values.

Bentzel said their goal is for Christian County Public Schools to be the best district in western Kentucky in two to three years and the best district in the state in five to ten years.
