The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library is hosting a Haunted Library event Friday evening.
Library officials say the second floor of the library will be transformed into a gothic house for the evening. The Haunted Library will feature jump-scares, fog machines, strobe lights, a scary indoor StoryWalk, and more.
Youth Services Librarian Jennifer Annis-Domenech says the library has offered a HallowRead event for several years leading up to Halloween. This year because of the pandemic, she adds they knew they had to do something different. She says a haunted library enables them to limit the number of people in the space at a time, while still allowing the library to offer a fun, safe event.
The event is from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and is free to the public.
All attendees must wear a mask and will be asked to socially distance from each other. Library officials say the event is not recommended for children ages 8 and under.
