Kentucky State Police Commissioner Rodney Brewer is resigning from his post on November 3.
State Police spokesman Josh Lawson confirmed the resignation to the Courier-Journal Monday evening. He said Lt. Colonel Phillip Burnett would serve as interim commissioner until a permanent replacement is appointed.
Lawson said he had no information concerning the reason for Brewer’s resignation.
The resignation took place after journalism students at Louisville Manual High School uncovered a report that State Police had previously used a training slideshow that quoted Adolph Hitler multiple times and advocating for troopers to use violence. Brewer was serving as KSP Commissioner when the slideshow was used in training.
