The Christian County Health Department reported the county’s 35th COVID-19 related death Friday, and an increase of 45 new cases.
Spokeswoman Amanda Sweeney said the latest death is an 86-year-old Caucasian, non-Hispanic male who had underlying health conditions.
According to the health department, since the pandemic began 2,393 residents in Christian County have been infected with the virus. Of those, 314 are active and 2,044 have recovered.
Officials with the health department ask everyone to continue wearing a mask in public, social distance when possible, frequently wash your hands, and take advantage of free testing opportunities.
