The newest phase of the Hopkinsville Greenway is now open and ready just in time for the Turkey Trot and 5K.
City administrative coordinator Nikki Durham said the nearly 5-mile path, over 2 miles of which are new, fully opened to the public Tuesday. She added that the public is invited to safely use the space by paying close attention to social distancing and other health department COVID-19 pandemic guidelines.
The new phase is one of two alternative routes for the 19th annual Hopkinsville Turkey Trot and 5K, which is virtual this year.
Durham said Turkey Trotters have the option of using the “Bridge Route” or the “Library Route,” with temporary signage marking both paths.
