The Christian County Rescue Team held a groundbreaking for their new facility Friday.
Rescue Chief Randy Graham said they formed in 1971.
Next year, the rescue team will celebrate 50 years of community service. Graham added there is no better way to celebrate than building the new location on Davenport Lane.
He said they are currently hosting a gun raffle with a drawing to take place on December 10.
Clay Smith, an owner of Pennyrile Ford, donated $75,000 toward the new 7,700 square foot building.
An open house and 50th-anniversary celebration for the Christian County Rescue Team is expected to occur in August.
If you would like to donate to help with the new building, you can send it to P.O. Box 392; Hopkinsville, Kentucky; 42241.
