The trial date of a Hopkinsville man accused of a fatal shooting in November 2018 in Trigg County has been postponed to next year.
Trigg County Circuit Court Clerk Pam Perry said the trial for James Gentry, scheduled to begin Thursday, has been postponed due to COVID-19 concerns. Perry added the trial is set to begin on July 22, 2021.
Gentry is charged with complicity to murder, first-degree robbery, and being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun. State police arrested Gentry after Joey Hayes was found with multiple gunshot wounds in a hay barn located on Buffalo Road in Trigg County on November 28, 2018.
