Kentucky COVID-19 Positivity Rate Continues to Fall

Governor Andy Beshear announced Friday afternoon the state’s COVID-19 positivity rate has dropped below 9-percent.

The rate is now 8.86-percent and marks the eighth straight day the rate has fallen. Governor Beshear said the numbers are still high and that they are still watching for any increases related to the Thanksgiving holiday. He added the state is making progress against the virus, and he hopes this gives everyone the courage and grit to keep going.

The Commonwealth confirmed 3,691 new COVID-19 cases and 22 deaths Friday. Currently, there are 1,717 hospitalized, 432 in the ICU, and 253 on the ventilator.

On Thursday, Governor Beshear asked every county in the state, except for Menifee, to follow the ‘red zone reduction recommendations.’
