Three pets died in a Princeton house fire Thursday night with the family displaced as a result of the blaze.
Princeton Interim Fire Chief David Sullenger tells the News Edge firefighters responded to a house fire at 508 S. Darby Street shortly after 8:00 p.m.
According to Assistant Fire Chief Tim Cook, when firefighters arrived they found flames venting out the front door and two rear kitchen windows of the single-family home. He says nineteen firefighters battled the fire with a pumper and ladder truck and had it under control within thirteen minutes.
Chief Sullenger, who was in charge at the scene, says no one was home when the fire started and there were no injuries reported. However, he adds three dogs perished inside the house.
Firefighters remained on the scene for two hours putting out hot spots and ventilating the structure.
Chief Sullenger says the home is a total loss and the American Red Cross was contacted to assist the family.
A list of the family’s clothes sizes provided to the News Edge is below. Any donations of items can be dropped off at 213 Grace Street in Princeton.
