The Pennyrile District Health Department confirmed twelve cases of COVID-19 Thursday.
In the report that was delayed and released Friday morning, the department announced 44 cases in their five-county region.
The twelve cases included six males and six females between the ages of 6 and 77, with the eldest case hospitalized. The new cases included five people over the age of 60.
