The number of people hospitalized in Kentucky with COVID-19 has dropped under 1,600 for the first time in nearly a month.
According to the state’s COVID-19 reporting website, there were 1,580 people hospitalized with the coronavirus Monday, the fewest since Nov. 23. Of those, 411 were in the ICU marking the 23rd straight day that total has exceeded 400.
For the first time since mid-November, the state had two straight days of less than 2,000 new cases. Monday showed 1,988 new cases with a positivity rate of 8.6-percent.
