A request for a welfare check led to the opening of a murder investigation in connection to a deceased male located on Brown Street in Hopkinsville Tuesday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called to check on 21-year-old Dylan Stewart and found him unresponsive inside the home just after 4 pm. Christian County Coroner Scott Daniel says Stewart died from a gunshot wound but it was not immediately clear if his death was a homicide.
Authorities say Stewart’s body was sent for an autopsy in Madisonville Tuesday where the death was then ruled as a homicide. Police are talking with neighbors and family members but at this time no arrest has been made.
