Officials with the Christian County Health Department reported two COVID-linked deaths Tuesday afternoon.
Spokeswoman Amanda Sweeney said the two deaths involve a 79-year-old African American female and a 90-year-old African American male, both had underlying health conditions. Christian County has reported 67 deaths since the pandemic began.
Sweeney added there were also 57 new COVID-19 cases confirmed Tuesday. The county’s active case total is now 870, with 521 between 22 and 59. Additionally, 221 are 60 or older, while 128 are 21 or younger.
Sweeney also announced the department is no longer taking names for the COVID-19 vaccination waiting list for those 70 years and older. She added they are working through the current list of names, and once we vaccinate everyone on the list, they will open a roster that allows the community to schedule their own appointment.
Sweeney reminded those who filled out the form to be placed on the waiting list that they are on the list and they will be contacting them as quickly as possible.
