The Kentucky National Guard is being deployed to Washington, D.C., and Frankfort in the days ahead of President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration.
Governor Andy Beshear said Thursday afternoon; the state has always sent National Guard members to protect the Capitol.
Approximately 270 members of the Kentucky National Guard will be deployed to Washington, D.C.
Beshear added members would also be deployed to Kentucky’s capital for additional safety.
Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will be sworn in Wednesday, January 20.
