A section of East Noel Drive in Cadiz is closed to allow the public works department to repair a sinkhole that has formed under a section of the roadway.
Cadiz Public Works Director Kerry Fowler says the closure is near the intersection of Eastgate Drive behind King’s Auto Sales. Crews are excavating in the area to try and find the sinkhole to repair it. Fowler says they are also working to protect a city water line that runs alongside the street. That stretch of the street is prone to flooding during times of heavy rain prompting its closure.
Fowler says the section of the roadway will remain closed until the repair is made. Traffic is being re-routed along Main Street.
