Governor Andy Beshear has declared a State of Emergency for the ice storm that struck Kentucky Wednesday night into Thursday.
Beshear said the declaration would help the state recover.
He added Kentucky Emergency Management Operations Center remains on Level 3 at this time.
Many of the power outages were reported in central and eastern Kentucky.
Governor Beshear urges all Kentuckians to stay off the roads Thursday. As more winter weather is expected over the next several days, Beshear encourages everyone to have another heat source.
