Police Investigating Attempted Theft of ATM in Madisonville

Madisonville police are investigating an attempted theft of an ATM from a bank on North Main Street early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to an alarm notification received by Central Dispatch just before 3:45 a.m. at Hancock Bank located at 2420 North Main Street. When officers arrived at the bank they reportedly noticed damage to the ATM.

According to police, Detective Dan Morck with the Madisonville Police Criminal Investigations Department reviewed surveillance video that showed two males in a tan 2004 Ford F-250 pickup truck tampering with the ATM and using the truck to steal the machine.

Police say a further investigation revealed the truck was stolen from a residence in Manitou between 10:00 Saturday night and 3:35 Sunday morning.
