The Christian County Health Department is still vaccinating community members who qualify for phases 1A, 1B, and 1C in Kentucky.
Health department spokesperson Amanda Sweeney-Brunt told the News Edge they distribute the Moderna vaccine at the James E. Bruce Convention Center every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week.
She added there are still some appointments available for this week.
Brunt said the Kentucky guidelines for phase 1C had changed some.
Brunt added that since they are distributing the Moderna vaccine, they do not allow those under 18 to receive the vaccine, even though the state phases say otherwise.
Brunt said the Christian County Health Department is excepted to get the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine soon, possibly in April. She added they would receive a limited supply, and it will be handed out to the most vulnerable in the community.
On Tuesday afternoon, the county reported 12 new COVID-19 cases. Christian County now has 87 active cases, with 53 between 22 and 59, 22 either 21 or younger, and 12 between 60 and 84.
