A portion of Old U.S. 68 in Cadiz has been closed due to a sinkhole. The state transportation cabinet said the closure on the frontage road is between Maple Road and Dogwood Drive.
A media release from the cabinet said the short stretch of road will remain closed until transportation engineers can develop a repair plan. Old U.S. 68 is located inside the Cadiz city limits but is maintained by the state.
There will be no marked detour but motorists can still access Maple Road and Dogwood Drive from the frontage road.
The sinkhole is the second to close a road in Cadiz in the past month following the closure of a section of East Noel Drive last month.
