A popular Hopkinsville restaurant known for its burgers will open a second location at Lake Barkley Marina next month.
Sherry and Charlie Powell, who moved from Memphis to take over Holiday Burgers in 2015, will open the new location on Mother’s Day weekend.
Sherry tells the News Edge they are slowly getting back to normal at their Hopkinsville location following the current state health guidelines concerning COVID-19.
She adds they are taking over the restaurant formerly known as Cap’n Jim’s Grill.
Powell says they will continue to serve ice cream at the new location, as the machines have already set up for them to do so.
Holiday Burgers on the lake will not serve beer, but those products will be available for purchase inside the marina. The couple says serving alcohol is not in their business plan, as it limits who they could hire to serve it.
Powell adds they will be hosting a job fair this Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
For the first few weeks of operation, Holiday Burgers on the lake will only be open on weekends from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., but after Memorial Day, they will be open daily except for Tuesdays.
