Hopkinsville City Council’s Committee of the Whole recently approved the ‘Lot Next Door Program,’ which could help clean up residential properties around the city.
Mayor Wendell Lynch told the News Edge the program would provide a unique opportunity to residents that live next to dilapidated properties.
Lynch said they receive numerous calls concerning the rundown properties, and he is glad they can launch the program to help.
He added the properties in question are those the city owns after a long legal process.
The new program has already received an enormous response.
More information about the ‘Lot Next Door Program’ will be released later this year, after approval from Hopkinsville City Council.
