A traffic stop on Thomas Street in Cadiz led to two Cadiz men being charged with possession of drugs Wednesday night.
Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say 55-year-old James Burke was stopped near the intersection of Wood Avenue for his license plate not being illuminated and being covered by a frame.
During the stop, Burke was reportedly nervous and his explanation of where he was going did not make sense.
Deputies say a meth pipe and a crack cocaine pipe were found in Burke’s pocket, a search of the vehicle led law enforcement to meth, a second meth pipe, and a digital scale.
Burke’s passenger 57-year-old Florentino Brown was reportedly also found to have a bag of synthetic marijuana in his pocket.
They are both charged with possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. Brown was also charged with possession of synthetic drugs.
