City of Hopkinsville Lifts COVID-19 Restrictions

Officials with the City of Hopkinsville announced Wednesday that people entering the Municipal Center or other city buildings will no longer be required to have temperature checks or wear facial coverings effective immediately.

Mayor Wendell Lynch said at the city council meeting Tuesday night the city would align with the latest COVID-19 guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and the state.

Those who wish to continue to wearing face coverings may do so at their discretion. City officials say any individuals experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should not enter city buildings and are encouraged to seek appropriate medical attention.

Officials say public meetings, including City Council, Committee of the Whole, and other public agencies will resume in-person meetings without public social distancing or other COVID-19 related restrictions. You will still be able to watch the City Council and Committee of the Whole meetings virtually, which are streamed live for free online at hoptown.org/tv.
