Five Dawson Springs residents were arrested after law enforcement received tips about drug trafficking at a home on Nortonville Road.
Detectives with the Madisonville-Hopkins County Vice/Narcotics Unit say they began receiving Crime Stopper tips in November of last year regarding 52-year old Charles “Jeff” Parker and his son, 28-year old Jeffery Parker, trafficking methamphetamine in Hopkins County.
During the investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant for Parker’s residence in the 12000 block of Nortonville Road in Dawson Springs and reportedly seized over a quarter pound of meth, multiple firearms and drug paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
According to detectives, they also located a firearm in the room of 64-year old William Lively and 35-year old Lorena Halbur, who are both convicted felons.
In addition, detectives said they seized meth and prescription pills from 22-year old Shelby Cunningham.
Charles Parker and his son, Jeffery, were charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance over two grams of methamphetamine. Charles was also charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun.
Lively and Halbur were also charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and Cunningham was charged with possession of meth and first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance drug unspecified.
All the subjects were lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
