A home on Monroe Street in Cadiz was destroyed by fire early Tuesday morning, with a nearby home damaged by the heat from the fire.
Cadiz Firefighters say they were called to the home on Monroe Street near the Lafayette Street intersection just after 2 am. When they arrived, firefighters found the structure fully engulfed in flames.
Everyone was able to get out of the home uninjured. Firefighters say two pets are unaccounted for.
The heat from the fire caused damage to the home next to it. The cause of the fire was unknown.
Cadiz Fire Department was assisted by Montgomery Fire Department, Pennyrile Electric, Cadiz Police, and Trigg County EMS.
