The Hopkinsville Rotary Club donated a wooden American flag crafted by a Hopkinsville Firefighter and money raised during the annual rotary auction to the wife of fallen Hopkinsville Police Officer Phillip Meacham.
During the weekly meeting at the Memorial Building in Hopkinsville, Rotary President Scott Cowan said the flag donation and the fundraising effort surrounding it was a first for the Club.
Cowan presented the flag and a check for more than $5,000 to Phillip Meacham’s wife, Mandy Meacham.
Cowan and Meacham were joined by Hopkinsville Police Captain Adam Smith and Christian County Sheriff Tyler DeArmond.
