This year, the Christian County Heart Walk is back and in-person after being forced to change last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Brittany Newcom, an organizer for the local event, tells the News Edge the walk will take place Saturday morning, June 19, with registration beginning at 8:30. The event will occur at the Western Kentucky Fairgrounds, and Newcomb says they will honor all survivors.
Newcomb adds it’s easy to register for the walk.
Newcomb says she has experienced many health issues with her heart over the last 25 years.
In addition to the walk, a car wash benefit will be held on Saturday, June 5, for the American Heart Association. It will take place at Jerry’s Express Car Wash at 2835 Fort Campbell Boulevard in Hopkinsville. Newcomb says 20-percent of all proceeds from that day will be donated to the organization.
